Is Internet Marketing DEAD?

Is Internet Marketing DEAD?  Interesting question isn't it!  And, I'll bet that the answer to this provocative question is going to shock you!  WHY?  Because Internet marketing IS DEAD . that is IF you continue to try to build an online venture using the worn out, tired, "old rules" of traditional Internet marketing!

How can I make such a strong claim?  Here are the cold, hard facts: Most Internet marketers never earn a single cent!  In fact, most of them lose end up losing money!  But that doesn't stop tens of thousands of people from putting their business online . only to repeat this failure cycle!  I wonder why?

I guess we all like to think we're well informed and think that we know exactly what we're doing when it comes to Internet marketing. Perhaps we read a book or took a class on the subject.  And I guess that we all have the "dreams of internet wealth".

Well then .If we're all so smart, why aren't we all "internet millionaires" yet?"

The answer is simple.  Almost everything we've been taught about Internet Marketing is WRONG!  Much of the advice of the so called "internet marketing experts" is outdated and unworkable!  It didn't work in the past, it doesn't work now, and it doesn't show any promise for working in the future.  So, It's not our fault we're not making money, we've simply been taught the wrong ways to do it!  We just didn't know any better!

THE GOOD NEWS:

Yes there is good news!  You can indeed be successful with any online venture.  The "success solution" for online marketing is really quite simple, as long as you know the "New Rules".  As a long-time Internet entrepreneur myself, I've done my homework and have been to the school of "marketing hard knocks".  And guess what?  I've discovered that the strategies that are working are remarkably simple, but radically different from the ones that we've all been following for so long!

The 4 Step Internet Marketing Success Formula

Step 1 - Make Your Business Unique

Every business or service needs to find their "edge".  What sets your business apart from your online competitors? You must add your own unique selling proposition to your business.  That simple adjustment can put you light years ahead of the competition.  Research your best competitors, and then be different.

Step 2 - Create a Website that SELLS

Your website is your sales force, and you need it to focus on selling your product or service.  Focus means you must grab the visitor's attention, create interest and finally ask for the order!  Keep your site focused on getting the sale, with no clutter or links to  other sites.  Study successful websites and see how they use copy and model those concepts for your product or service.

Step 3 - Get Quality Traffic and Quality Leads

The formula for a profitable website is as follows:  Quality traffic + Quality leads = Quality Sales.  The days of posting ads in free classifieds online are long gone.  There are many free and low cost ways to get targeted leads.  Press releases and articles to offline and online publications are tremendous ways to get free leads. Offline direct mail can also drive visitors to your sites.  One of my favorites is to do Joint Ventures with other noncompetitive online sites and share databases and split the sales!

Step 4 - Repeat Sales to Your Customers

So, just who is your best customer?  Someone who has bought from you before!  Be sure to send them follow up offers!  Perhaps even giving them a special discount as a "preferred customer" can keep them loyal buyers of your product line!  The moral of the story?  Keep your customers happy with offers that would interest them and they will keep you happy by ordering from you again and again!  This is one of the biggest mistakes that online marketers make - ignoring their old customers!

Bottom line, If we want to be successful, we're going to have to change. We're going to have to shake up and challenge our long-held beliefs about what works in making money online, and what doesn't. We're going to have to be willing to continually find the new strategies and systems that really work, and use them to their fullest potential.  If we can do all that, we WILL succeed, and our Internet marketing will not be "dead on arrival", but instead create a substantial, long term income stream.
