Anyone remember 'Mary Poppins" ??? "If you say it loud enough t'even sounds

Anyone remember that ridiculous word and the song that goes with it??
Got your attention though, didn't it?
Well ......... That was the whole point.
You see words, if used in an imaginative way, have a power that is truly
unbelievable.
Words have the power to completely turn you off...or the power to get you
very excited.....along with the power to make you want to literally.........."DO
IT NOW"............!
Just GOT to have that bit of information, article, book, or whatever a well
written ad is alluding to.
Notice I said 'alluding' and not 'telling' you about. Big difference!
Most people who place ads in ezines wonder why their ad doesn't bring hoards
of people to their site.
I suggest you read the classified ads in a variety of 'zines' or web sites.
Notice a similarity?
They're all saying the same thing!
Examples:-
"Just running this little ad will....."
"Step by Step instructions....."
"Get the one that works............"
Know what's wrong with all of these?
They're b-o-r-i-n-g!
Do any of these excite you? Do they create a desire to know what the heck
it's all about?
Do they spark your interest at all?
Not............
So how do you create an ad that will do all these things, and have some fun
along the way.
Make up new words!!
That's what the author of 'Mary Poppins" did!
How about Dr. Seus's books? How many times have you watched "The Grinch that
Stole Christmas"?
Can you remember ALL the words to any of the songs?
I can't and I have a great memory, but these are all, or mostly 'made-up'
words, so they sound and yes TASTE delicious..... every time you hear them.
Write your ad..... Mix up the words ....Say them out loud...... TASTE how
they feel......Do they make you giggle just a bit?
Good! - 'cause they'll do the same for some of the people who read it too,
and .... guess what?
Yup - They'll be compelled to go see what the hey you're talking about!
Shouldn't be a big ad either! Lot's of times - LESS is really more!
Don't try to tell the whole story in a three line ad. Trust me it can't be
done.
But with some imagination and a smidgin' of 'giggles' thrown in for good
measure you WILL get much better results and more visitors!
And isn't that what you want? Sure it is!
So go and write some goofy ads.Get your kids to help, if you have kids, or
ask someone else's children if you don't.
You see small children don't have a problem that adults might have with this.
They still have an innocents that doesn't know
you aren't supposed to talk like that.(Who say's I can't say it that way??
)
Bet you'll have some fun doing 'em and they'll certainly not bore your readers
to tears.
Might even get some interested folks to email you looking to talk to the
writer of the ad!
